Uber has announced Natalie Malligan as the Head of Uber Air for Australia, where she will be responsible for making Uber’s ambitious urban aviation plans a reality.
Natalie previously worked in Uber’s ridesharing business as Head of Cities for Australia and New Zealand. She was approached to lead Uber Air in Melbourne while on maternity leave. She has two daughters aged 5 months and 3 years.

Born and bred in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, she previously worked as a Manager in Bain and Company’s Private Equity practice in San Francisco and Sydney where she established her business credentials.
She holds a combined Bachelor of Commerce and Law degree from the University of Sydney, and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University in New York.
Australia will be the first international market outside of the United States for Uber Air, with Melbourne being selected as the third official pilot city alongside Dallas and Los Angeles. The plan is for commercial operations to commence from 2023.
Natalie is passionate about Uber’s vision for the future of cities and creating seamless multi-modal transportation for Australians both on the ground and in the air, especially in cities like Melbourne where congestion is an issue.
As leader of the Uber Air Melbourne pilot, Natalie will be in charge of getting a fully scaled operation off the ground in partnership with the Victorian Government, Melbourne Airport, federal aviation agencies, and most importantly, Melbourne communities. Launching Uber Air is going to be a lengthy journey but Natalie says she is committed for the long-haul.
Uber’s vision is for safe, quiet and environmentally conscious electric vehicles that fly tens of thousands of people across cities. Natalie says she and her expert team are putting safety front and centre and will be working closely with Australian governments and regulators to make sure safety is a top priority.
Natalie is relocating her young family to Melbourne and is excited to be taking Uber’s tech to the sky down under.
